I am currently finishing up my PhD in a biomedical field at a large, private University. I love science, but don't really enjoy the competition, or stress and anxiety I've experienced throughout my PhD (stress and anxiety mostly due to said competition and inadequate mentorship). I know that I do not want to pursue academic research and have begun to contemplate a career doing the other thing that I love: teaching. I've had the opportunity to work with several high school students during my PhD, and I think I could be a great science teacher. Does anyone here have any advice for a PhD that is thinking about teaching high school biology? Where do I even start to make this transition?
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
